An all Bach program of arias and dance suites, featuring voice, recorder, cello, and harpsichord by the German composer J. S. Bach, who brought the Baroque era to its maturity, will be presented by St. Luke’s Restoration, Inc. Bach, an organist, harpsichordist, violist, violinist and composer of both sacred and secular works, is regarded by many as the worlds greatest composer.

Born on March 21, 1685, Bach, and St. Luke’s share a period of history where both were extremely active and whose history lives on. St. Luke’s provides a wonderful setting for the music of this Baroque composer.

78th Historic Garden Week in Virginia

English Boxwoods have been growing for hundreds of years on the ancient grounds of the “Old Brick” Church. Offered only once a year during Historic Garden Week in Virginia, the proceeds go toward Historic St. Luke’s Church’s Save America’s Treasures project for the restoration of the church.

Rooted in the past, the boxwood is considered “man’s oldest garden ornament.” Not only are they decorative, their magnificent foliage creates a sanctuary for resident rabbits, squirrels, and a menagerie of birds throughout St. Luke’s uniquely serene graveyard. St. Luke's English boxwoods were cultivated by,
The English Connection
, of Surry Virginia.
