Historic St. Luke's Church Newsletters...
Historic St. Luke's newsletter, The Sounding Board, is produced twice a year. The newsletter derives its name from the sounding board which is suspended above the tri-level Colonial stlye pulpit in the church and whose purpose was to reflect the speakers voice back down to the congragation. This wooden sounding board is said to be an original feature of the church, hidden away for safe keeping from the British during the American Revolution by Isle of Wight County, Virginia patriot Josiah Parker and returned to the church in the 20th century.
